AND........ Another one... Yes baby, yes.

A first real production with a crew and actors and all the gravy. It was long and hard but we all pulled through it and if I do say so myself I think the outcomes wasn't too bad. Here's the short synopsis.

"Just another day of friends getting together to play some poker. Although the game starts off good and playful it soon turns deadly after one of the player drops his poker face and shows his hand."

Shot with the awesome Canon T2i, and HFS200. Also the greatness of the Panasonic AF100.

See What I Hear - NEW EQUIPMENT

This film was more of a test to fill out the new equipment I recently bought. I'm quite pleased with the final draft. I just but a Vixia HFS200 with a 35mm Adapter called a Letus. The Letus is a sweet utensil if you want to adapted DSLR Lenses to give you that nice shallow DOF(Depth of field) look. And I also bought a ME66 Sennheiser that I did all the voice over's with.

But enough about the equipment watch the film and tell me what ya think.

Lucid Dreams - A LONG but GREAT process

This short film probably took the longest to make, but with the help of my A.D. Lorance Schardin it was possible. Oh and IT'S ON IMDB! I entered it in The Austin Film Festival 2010. Also the cast and crew is also on imdb, look us up! This is my favorite film of them all. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did making it. Also I would like to thank my Grandma and my Dad for helping me out with the cash to enter the Austin Film Fest.

Synopsis:

When Kronos begins his quest to find his 'Life' his friend Atlas accompanies him. On the journey Kronos and Atlas take different paths, and Atlas throws Kronos into a deep slumber. In his dream Kronos meets Snow, a child with a knife and a hint to find his Life. After awaking from the strange dream, Kronos goes through a series of trials, before his journey finally comes to an end and he finds his Life

Chiaroscuro

Please watch the film before reading everything (I don't want to spoil the film for you)

"Chiaroscuro" is a short film An angel(Urim) has been sent down to bring Bernael a fallen angel back to the depths of darkness where he belongs. On the course of doing this, Joseph attacks Urim but when Urim touches Joseph he become healed of his addiction to drugs. Joseph secretly follows Urim throughout the rest of his journey to talk to past friends and find Bernael.

This film is going to be premiered at Intermedia Arts in June. I entered this film into the BET Filmmakers Challenge. Sadly I did not win; but with every failure is a step forward to great success!

Here Comes The Sun

First off I would like you to watch the film and see if you get what I'm trying to go for.

"Here Comes The Sun" a short film project that came from the idea to show something evil desiring something good. This was filmed all around Minneapolis. I have written two scripts before this film and I wasn't able to shoot them. Hopefully I will produced the other two scripts in the future.

This film was premiered at Intermedia Arts, and out of this film I got a scholarship to attend a workshop presented by the Screenwriters Workshop. The scholarship includes an all day screenwriting seminar by Michael Hauge a well known screenwriter. Click Here for more details

I think this is one of my better films, and I really enjoyed making it! I have to thank everyone involved in helping it come to life.

Past Two FIlms - You Killed My Dog / Cool Minnesota

Yo people! This blog is about my past two films that I've made with my co-star Lorance Schardin.

"You Killed My Dog" was one of my first successful films, produced by PCTV and shown at the Walker Arts Center. You Killed My Dog is about a teenage boy having love for his dog, takes him out for a stroll and then loses him in a weird house. The is a Action/Comedy genre.

"Cool Minnesota" is another success film shown at the Walker Arts Center, also has been entered in the ScreenLabs Challenge 2008 and won the Audience Award for the most votes. Cool Minnesota is about a young brother just turning 21 and his older brother takes him out for the time of his life only for it to end suddenly.

Right now I'm working on another 2 part film called "Hm". It's about a detective that is tired of working and wants a vacation, but he knows he can never get a rest. Coming soon, look out for it!

Hm? Well this is my first blog, so I guess I better start off saying a little about me :)

My name 'of course' is David J. Buchanan. I like to workout ya know keep my body in shape, go outside, hangout, sail, technology, and my passion is directing (making films). For a while I been playing this very addicting game called "Metal Gear Online" I had gotten immensely good at it, but also lost 1 year of my life :(

Don't worry, I'm not going to make this post about MGO... Lolz... Anyways before I got caught up in that game I was making films for PCTV and got pretty good at that also. At least I think so >_>... I also do 3D animation, but that's even more complicated then film and I need an even bigger team to do that, so it didn't really work out. Other than making films, I like to watch them too. My favorite movies are The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Rain Man, Vanilla Sky, and Public Enemies. I like Benjamin Button because of the cinematography and acting. The story was also very well done but I think without the special effects, direction, and lighting of the film it would have just been another plain story. But in any case I loved it! Rain Man was another one I liked, because it really showed a good unique story back in its day. Vanilla Sky, what can I say? A lot of people hated this film Lolz... I though the story was superb and the acting just increased the beauty of it. Public Enemies a true life story about John Dillinger... it's just kick ass! Plus the lighting, camera work (handheld) and acting was great.

I also write scripts even though my passion is directing, but when I do write scripts I like to listen to music. I like a variety of music from Hip-Hop, Pop to Rock, mostly classics in those genres. I'm not really up to date with the new people coming out. The last new guys I listened to was Drake and Kid Cudi, I think there decent.

What else can I say about me? Hm? I like animals, and hot women :)
